DISCOVERY SESSION

First things first, I meet with my client and ask a lot of questions in order to better understand the scope of the project. My custom made note sheets keep ideas and client criteria organized, allowing me to establish a workflow style and a goal timeline without distraction.

QUALITY RESEARCH

Before starting work, I find it is best to analyze the industry and the competition. Then, I open my mind to inspiration. Once I have collected my resources, I put inspiration aside and brainstorm different design concepts. This step helps direct me toward a distinct solution.

CONTENT CURATION

Once I have my design ideas & notes compiled, the project starts to take shape. The tone of the copy is separate yet very much connected to the mood of the design. This step gives me the opportunity to explore that. I work with my client to prioritize content in order to ensure that only optimal information is included.

SIMPLE SKETCH

Now I pull together all of my ideas and materials in order to formulate a lite blueprint on paper, sometimes I even use the back of my note sheets for sketching . The more successful drafts will be translated into wireframes. Wireframes allow me to test the user experience and work out any glitches in the design.

TIME FOR MOCKUPS

When customizing a WordPress theme, I tend to build a mockup locally and work with my client to fine-tune the layout. Designing for development takes more finesse, for this I call on my design chops and follow Photoshop Etiquette.

CODE. CODE. CODE.

Once I have final design approval, I get busy writing code. For more sophisticated projects requiring more than front-end dev, I confidently follow protocol and hand off mockups to a developer.

ABOUT

rr1

Hi there! I’m a multi-disciplinary designer from the Wichita, KS area. Although in the past I have focused primarily in WordPress customization, my skill set now includes designing and developing websites using the mobile-first approach. My current areas of focus are identity design, web design, marketing, and front-end development.

When I am not working on a project, I enjoy taking a break from my computer and dabbling in one of my many creative hobbies: photography, writing, or sewing. Recharging is a must and I do so by practicing yoga, walking, or reading.

TESTIMONIALS

“It took me a while to find someone who could accomplish what I needed for my website business. I have to say it was well worth the wait. Rebecca is a total and utter pleasure to work with. Her hard work, patience, and professionalism far exceeds my expectations. Not once has she made me feel like I was pestering her with questions, any ideas I had she would expand on them to make them better, and her attitude is always positive and upbeat. Rebecca can take a very challenging RFP with a ton of specifications and pull it all together very effectively into a clean and elegant design. I always felt like my clients sites were priority number one.

I would recommend Rebecca for any development project, no matter how complicated or demanding. So, if you want a great professional website, with a pleasant professional experience, you’ve found your developer – Rebecca.

Thanks Rebecca!”

“I have had the pleasure of being a client for Rebecca Morris for approximately 2 years. She was able to accommodate my needs without total direction from me. Her knowledge of website design and how clients interact with websites has facilitated my efforts to communicate my work to the public. Her labors have been expedient, efficient and quite cost effective. I’m grateful to have her on my “go-to” team.”
